OpenAI Launches Affordable ChatGPT Go Plan in India at Just ₹399/Month
OpenAI has introduced its most affordable subscription plan, ChatGPT Go, in India at a monthly price of just ₹399. This marks the first-ever rollout of the Go plan globally, with India chosen as the launch market.
According to Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, Indian users had consistently demanded lower pricing and convenient local payment methods. The new Go plan addresses both needs by offering subscription payments directly in Indian Rupees and supporting widely used UPI payment options such as PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm.
Key Highlights of ChatGPT Go:
10× Higher Limits compared to the Free plan – for messages, image generation, and file uploads. 2× Longer Memory for improved conversations. Affordable Pricing at just ₹399/month, making it significantly cheaper than the Plus Plan (₹1,999) and Pro Plan (₹19,900). Target Audience: Students, freelancers, and professionals who need more than the Free plan but don’t require all the premium features of Plus or Pro.
With this move, OpenAI aims to bridge the gap between the Free and Plus plans, making AI more accessible for daily use, learning, creative projects, and work. Industry experts believe that India is serving as a testbed for OpenAI’s global strategy, and user feedback here will influence how ChatGPT Go evolves worldwide.
